FIBA has approved rule changes that will take effect worldwide on October 1. The package expands instant-replay reviews for goaltending, basket interference and late-game throw-in fouls, while introducing separate technical-foul categories and replacing “unsportsmanlike” fouls with Disruption and Flagrant fouls. FIBA also removed the requirement for visible socks and added flexibility for court markings. The changes were ratified by FIBA’s Central Board after review by its Technical Commission. The updated interpretations document has not yet been published.
